“Investor” money is usually money invested by friends or family in exchange for a small percentage of ownership in the business. The occasional late payment is generally not a problem and some lenders will disregard minor medical collections depending on the circumstances. Even borrowers with past bankruptcies are eligible if enough time has passed since the discharge, the explanation is satisfactory to the lender and there were no losses for the federal government. Also, it can be difficult to get a lender to do what they consider to be a smaller loan.
